Martrys Qualify for All African Games King Of Rugby

In an electrifying display of skill, determination, and teamwork, the Uganda Martrys University rugby team secured a place in the All African Games King Of Rugby during a highly anticipated circuit. The clash between teams left spectators on the edge of their seats as it showcased the essence of rugby's fierce competition and sportsmanship.

The circuit, which took place at Impis Pitch  Makerere on Saturday 23rd September 2023, the Martrys team pitted against different teams in games namely MUBS,Makerere2,Kyambogo University and MUBS2 that will undoubtedly go down in rugby history. Martrys entered the contest with a well-established reputation for their formidable line-ups and impressive track records.

From the opening whistle, it was evident that this circuit would be no ordinary encounter. Bone-crushing tackles, lightning-fast sprints, and precision passes demonstrated the extraordinary talent by the Martrys. The score remained neck-and-neck throughout the regulation time.

As the clock wound down, tension in the Impis Pitch reached a fever pitch. Martrys fans roared in support of their team, creating an electric atmosphere. With just seconds remaining, the Martrys team managed to gain possession and execute a series of textbook passes that culminated in a heart-stopping try, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The try came from a sensational break by the team's star player, Arnold "The Bulldozer" Duku, who bulldozed through the opponent's defense before offloading to a sprinting winger, Arthur being backed up by Kanyanya the captain ready to knock off rivals

Overtime ensued, and the Martrys team carried their momentum into the extra time knwn as Sudden Death. After several intense exchanges. They managed to thwart a series of desperate attempts by their rivals although thngs nvr turned up as planned  holding onto their lead until the Victoria University player passed through the walls of defence for the Martrys hence pulling them off the finals.

Both teams displayed the utmost respect for each other, showcasing the true spirit of sportsmanship that rugby is known for.

Although the Martrys lost the circuit,they managed to qualify for the All Africa Games   King Of Rugby that will be happening soon.
