We had a chance to have a one on one with Ronald and this is how it went.

Q1nt    Can you tell us about your latest project and what inspired you to pursue it?

Ronald; My latest project is winning a trophy for Uganda Martyrs University and it’s my teammates, coaches and more our funs that a really instrumental, that inspired me to pursue this project.

Q2nt    What challenges did you face while working on becoming a rugby player and how did you overcome them?

Ronald; First, I really feared the knocking but through training, believing in myself and hard work I overcame that fear.

Secondly, in the school I was in rugby was not played so I had to move out of school to look for where to train from but through training and hard work I overcame that.

Q3nt    How do you think your background and experiences have shaped your approach to becoming a nice rugby player?

Ronald; my background has really shaped me in a way that I hv a supportive family and friends actually the nicest thing is that my sister also plays rugby hence being a person I look upon to.

Q4nt    Can you share a pivotal moment in your career that significantly influenced your path?

Ronald; Was in P7 when I made it to the rugby team and we were given a tour to the UK, this actually encouraged me more and more to play more rugby and inspire more people to join.

Q5nt    What advice would you give to someone aspiring to follow in your footsteps in rugby?

Ronald; I can’t give them much advice but just believe in yourself, work hard and enjoy yourself, if you enjoy doing something your really doing fun actually something good comes out eventually.

Q6nt    How do you stay motivated and creative in an ever-changing [industry] landscape?

Ronald; learning, believing and hard work because learning doesn’t stop, there very many rules that come in which were not there so being teachable by coaches, people, players has also made me move.

Q7nt    Could you share a personal anecdote that illustrates the importance of rugby in your life?

Ronald; is a lifestyle because it’s a hooligan game played by gentlemen xo it shapes you, any mistake in rugby your out and coasting the team so it actually shapes you very well and it has really pushed me in my communication skills, it has really helped me a lot with my tempers, there times where by you have tempers and you have to keep your head in the freezer and cool.

Q8nt    What do you believe are the biggest misconceptions people have about you playing rugby?

Ronald; People think am a hooligan and a bully but am a simple and shy boy.

Q9nt    How do you see the future of rugby evolving, and what role do you hope to play in it?

Ronald; The future is really bright for rugby because it’s known by so many people, I personally have tried to take it out to people for example in my home community I try to coach those young kids at home in the holidays and very many people get to know about it so the future is set good to go.

Q10nt What are some of the most valuable lessons you've learned throughout your career?

Ronald; Being patient because my first call up was in the senior team HEATHENS, I almost spent a full year without being given playing time but just giving me the last 5minutes of the game. This really helped me and still move with it in day-to-day life.

Q11nt Who are some of the individuals or mentors who have had a significant influence on your journey?

Ronald; First of all, its me myself, I keep on motivating myself. My parents, my mum has been there for me and then senior players in my team like Alex Mubiru, Phillip Okorach, Maximin, Paul, Faraj Odugo, Kinyera Rana etc. you know wen you have supportive teammates it keeps you moving, your family supporting you, senior players supporting you it all comes back to patience and learning because learning is from anyone.

Q12nt How do you balance your professional success with your personal life and well-being?

Ronald; At times its hard but normal because you have to become patient and humble because you have to learn from others so when you don’t know something even though you know it maybe someone is trying to elaborate it give them time listen to them and then pick out what can help you. That has helped me also.

Q13nt In your opinion, what are the essential qualities or skills needed to excel in [your field]?

Ronald; They keep on rotating the same time patience being able to learn from others, hard work, the believe and trying out new things.
